If you’re going to be around in August, head to
the Branson Fiddle Festival. The 29 th annual fes-
tival is being held this year from the 25 th to the
27 th of August, and will be taking place on the fa-
mous West 76 Country Boulevard at the Grand
Country Music Hall and the Grand Country Re-
sort. Of course there will be a fiddling competition
and plenty of live shows, but also indoor mini-golf
and an outdoor waterpark for guests and visitors
that are staying at the Grand Country Inn.
Kansas City may be praised for its BBQ, but the
city itself has so much more to offer when it
comes to events and attractions. Beer is big here,
as well. Take the Kansas City Tap Tour, which will
act as your own personal guide to all of the local
breweries. The guidebooks can be purchased at
the visitors center. Collect a stamp at each brew-
ery and learn fun facts as you sample your way
through the list. Tours are always going on
throughout the year, but you will have to check
www.visitkc.com for information on upcoming prizes
and special giveaways while on the tours.
Check out the nationally recognized World War I
Museum, which houses countless artifacts and
knowledge about the “War to End All Wars.” Known
as a national treasure, the museum has received nu-
merous awards and constant reviews about the
amazing exhibitions it holds.
The Power and Light District is the city’s hub, which
hosts plenty of bars, restaurants, and nightlife for vis-
itors and locals alike. Catch a movie or peruse
through the “high-end supermarket.” Grab a bite to
eat at Cleaver & Cork or the Kill Devil Club. The Kill
Devil Club is a newer establishment serving up
hand-crafted cocktails and small plates.
