Lake
Lake Michigan is the only lake of the Great Lakes that is lo-
cated completely inside of the United States. There are tons
of attractions on the shores of Lake Michigan, from Traverse
City to Green Bay. The Sleeping Bear Dunes National
Lakeshore is perfect for enjoying the outdoors, and Traverse
City and the nearby Charlevoix have so much to offer, with
Fisherman’s Island State Park, which is ideal for camping and
picnics.
Traverse City will blow your foodie mind, with all of its wine
and culinary options. It’s best to stop here for a bite to eat while
on your circle tour. Clinch Park may just be the favorite beach
stretch, as it is right next door to downtown Traverse City, and
has a marina, for easy docking options. With a variety of mi-
crobreweries, winery tours, and distilleries, you’ll never go

thirsty while you’re here, either!
Downtown historic Charlevoix is a quaint, cottage-style town
that encompasses what it means to be in a peaceful lakeside
area. Stay for a Lake Michigan sunset, and explore the water
via a kayak or a boat tour. The summers here are beautiful and
refreshing!
Head over to Green Bay, which is one of the most recognized
bays in the country, but not just for their football team. Visit the
Green Bay Botanical Gardens, or spend a day hiking through
waterfalls and eroded rocks along the shores. During the sum-
mer, Green Bay has a variety of events and activities to partic-
ipate in, including Bayfest, Artstreet, Summer in the Park, and
a beautiful Independence Day celebration.
