Da capitale della birra a Capitale Europea della Cultura 2015: quest’anno Pilsen è pronta a stupirci con un ricco programma di eventi all'insegna del divertimento e dell'intrattenimento. Saranno infatti oltre 50 i grandi spettacoli e ben 600 gli appuntamenti che animeranno strade, piazze e palazzi della città boema, senza però tralasciare gli edifici industriali, che saranno trasformati nelle Fabbriche dell’immaginazione.
Negli spazi dell’ex centrale elettrica, per esempio, si svolgerà in aprile la Mostra del Design Contemporaneo Europeo, ma diversi eventi animeranno anche l’ex cartiera, il deposito ormai vuoto dell’azienda dei trasporti e altri siti di archeologia industriale. Non solo riconversioni, ma anche strutture nuove di zecca come il nuovo teatro da 650 posti, sede prestigiosa per il Festival Internazionale del Teatro.
Maggio sarà invece il mese delle celebrazioni della liberazione della città da parte dell’esercito americano e una spettacolare parata ricorderà il 70o anniversario della fine della seconda guerra mondiale. Nei mesi estivi saranno poi vari monumenti della regione di Pilsen ad animarsi con musica, danza, teatro e fuochi d’artificio in stile barocco. Il festival, della durata di nove settimane, vuole celebrare i tesori architettonici della Boemia occidentale che appartengono alla corrente dell’arte decorativa. http://www.pilsen.eu/
From beer capital to European Capital of Culture 2015: this year Pilsen intends to impress its visitors with a full program of entertaining events. In the coming months, Pilsen 2015 will provide over 50 large cultural events in the public space and over 600 other events ranging from theatre, music, exhibition, architecture, dance, performances, art installations, that are expected to animate the streets, squares and buildings of the West Bohemian city, without neglecting the industrial buildings, which will turn into art spaces as part of the Imagination Factories project.
The Liberation Festival in May will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Pilsen by the American army. Furthermore, May and June will be the peak months for art to occupy public space with temporary visual exhibits, neighbourhood parties or opening of unexplored places, while during the summer months the 9 Weeks of Baroque Festival will go on with an extensive programme of live art events set in unique baroque monuments within the region.
In September, the International Festival “Theatre” will be accompanied by a recently established parade of contemporary circus, which will blend in with the rest of the season of this popular genre. http://www.pilsen.eu/
