Ocean alive is a cooperative founded in 2015
that aims to protect the ocean by transforming
behaviors. It’s build with 3 main areas of
activities:
1.Interactive visits to the Setúbal fish market
and tours aboard salt galleons.
Interactive visits to Setúbal Fish market, one of
the top 10 fish markets in the world, guided by
a fisherwoman and a marine biologist. These
visits aim to create alternative jobs for
unemployed fisherwomen empowering their
cultural wisdom alongside promoting Ocean
conservation. They are part of a broader
project that was granted with the institutional
support from Unesco (ICGC-Unesco) and the
Nacional Agency for Science and with the
Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship 2015. At the
