Jersey City ’ s Changing Skyline ( Waterfront )
With a 9.4 percent population increase since the 2010 U . S . Census , the highest of any New Jersey municipality , Jersey City is closing in on Newark as the largest city in the state . In an attempt to keep up with this population boom ’ s housing needs , construction cranes are filling the skyline .
Among the notable projects recently completed or in various phases of development :
100 Monitor Street
Vantage
In late 2017 , Fisher Development Associates opened Vantage , a 45-story rental building at 33 Park View Avenue , which is near Jersey City ’ s Paulus Hook and Van Vorst Park neighborhoods . Leasing has begun for the 448-units housed in the waterfront tower .
A joint venture led by Ironstate Development Company broke ground on a 309-unit apartment building at 100 Monitor Street in Jersey City ’ s Lafayette section . Located adjacent to a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station , the project will also contain retail space and commercial space . It will also serve as the new headquarters for the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency .
99 Hudson Street
China Overseas America has reached the 33rd floor in a 79-story condo development at 99 Hudson Street that will house 781 units , along with 15,000 square feet of commercial and retail space . When completed in 2019 , the project is expected to be the tallest building in the state .
