Hey Mom and Dad! I’m pregnant. You know that girl I was telling you
about? Well, she’s due the same month I am, isn’t that great? Oh yeah,
and my best friend has a drug problem, but I told her not to bring
anything to school because they search cars a few times a month. We
wouldn’t want her getting caught. How was your day?
We have an abnormal number of pregnant teens, and, like it or not, a
decent amount of discrimination. As I continue to write, I will delve into
these topics to try to raise awareness of what is really going on. Think of
me as a shadow. I never leave your side. When the spotlight shines on you,
I’m there to help you with stage fright. When you see me I always
make you look taller, and when you are alone I am always with you. All I
want to do is help.
Parents need to know what a lot of teens here are doing. It is a
small town with not a lot to do until you reach the age of about 25. Sure,
we have a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a putt-putt golfing center,
but you can only knock down so many pins until you need something else
to do. This is where your high schoolers turn to “extracurricular”
activities like drinking, having sex, and smoking marijuana.
So, Moms and Dads of Fredericksburg, we need your help. We are not
little kids anymore, but there is no way we are ready to be adults. Parenthood should be saved for those who are mature and ready, not those who

with their parents, many adults would be incredibly surprised to
find that these events are pretty common in this town. Sometimes it seems more “experienced” than you choose to believe. We want to tell you what
is going on, but we’re scared. Our bodies are still doing things that we’re

a family.

school pride unlike anywhere else. If you really allow yourself to
become a part of the school, the experience is one that will never

FHS is not a bad place to be. It’s a place where friends abound
and theres always a fresh pair of ears waiting to hear our story.
We just need a little help editing it.
FHS is the only place I would ever want to graduate from. It is my second
home and I absolutely adore it. But, we have a drug and alcohol problem.
