We have had a fantastic start to the year at Training Magazine with the launch of Training Magazine Europe and the signing of a partnership with Bayt.com, the Middle East’s #1 job site.
When you finish reading my editors note and start to flick through the magazine you will notice we have chosen ROI as the main feature for our first issue of 2015.
We are all aware of the importance of investing in training; ASTD research shows that based on the training investments of 575 companies during a 3-year period, the firms investing the most in training and development (measured by total investment per employee and percentage of total gross payroll) yielded a 36.9% total shareholder return compared with the 25.5% weighted return for the S&P 500 index for the same period.
But how do you know if your current training methods are effective, or if you are implementing the MOST effective training possible?
On page 16, our feature written this month by Barry Cummings, guides us in-depth through some of the various methods of measuring and evaluating training ROI, and asks, should ROI be the focus of your training analysis?
