EDITORS NOTE
Welcome to the first issue and the launch of Training Magazine Europe. With nearly half of the spending on training globally taking place within Europe, Europe serves as a hub for some of the top training organisations in the world.
Following our success with Training Magazine Middle East, professionals from the training, L&D and HR industries in Europe expressed a need for up-to-date news, articles, case studies, resources and interviews from high profile figures in learning and development within Europe, thus Training Magazine Europe is born.
The focus for our launch issue is Leadership. Leadership is a topic which has been visited and re-visited often by many with one of the most common question asked being: “Are leaders born or made?” We have taken a more practical approach to leadership with our first feature article written by Mike Kitson on page 16 looking at transforming leaders for the needs of 2015.
Our second feature article on page 28 discusses the increasing need to claim your space as a leadership expert on the worldwide media stage. Another must read article in our content packed first issue is on page 40 where Neville Pritchard shares his ‘Performance Focused Development Model’. Does your Performance Development strategy need a re-think?
Each issue will feature case studies, interviews and articles from industry experts, who between them have over 1000 years of knowledge and experience in training and developing the workforce of some of the biggest and most successful companies in Europe.
This month we are happy to showcase Blaire Palmer from ‘That People Thing’ in our ‘Day In The Life Of’ feature. Blaire has over 15 years experience working with Boards and senior teams in the UK and Europe as a coach and “agent provocateur”. She is well-known as one of the worlds top leadership experts.
