At Hogwarts, his best friends are Harry Potter, the boy
famous for his defeat of Voldemort, and Hermione Granger,
the brightest witch of her age. In all honesty, he’s the
weakest link of the trio.
Because of all of this, he’s incredibly insecure and
envies his more talented family and friends.
And it’s understandable! He’s a boy who hasn’t matured
yet and this is how he reacts. It’s natural and it’s
unfortunate that people don’t realize this.
Out of the many characters, he’s one of the most
openly flawed characters in the series and I think that’s why
people don’t like him. They don’t want to see characters
that are openly flawed. They want people like Harry, whose
greatest flaw is his “saving people thing”. Complicated
characters like Ron remind of them of their own failings,
which they don't want to be reminded of, and so they make
excuses to hate him. It’s angering and saddening.
Ron might not be the most talented, might get jealous
easily, and might be insensitive, but he’s a loyal friend who
does his best to aid Harry and Hermione in every way he
can.
I just wish other people could see it that way.
