Rules
of
The
Hallway
Road
What’s to be said, the hallways are treacherous land. It’s a mosh pit of
sorts, people clambering in as tightly as possible, bumping around like
plinko balls. The sheer pack mentality of the corridor is enough to make
one feel ostracized for doing something to impede the flow of traffic. Drop
your books? Better off leaving them. Shoelace untied? Better get to class.
And never, ever, walk slowly, or you will be called out. So how do you
survive such a harsh wasteland? Well that’s quite simple reader, all you
need is the essential 7! That’s right, seven single, simplistic standards
started to ensure a safer hallway for all of PTHS.
1: KEEP TO THE RIGHT
This rule is the same as the cars we drive. To ensure an easy flow, make
sure you are on the right side of the hallway and or stairwell! If we can
prevent crashes and bumps in the already congested halls, we can save so
much strife for everyone. Remember, if you stay to the right, traffic will be
light.
2: PACE YOUR LEADER
In the hallway, it’s imperative that we neither sprint nor succumb to a snail’s
pace. As much as leisurely walking really feels wonderful, if you are causing
the lane to clutter, you are the problem. Now accidents are bound to
happen, but if we follow closely to those in front, the flow is almost
guaranteed. Never make gaps big enough to fit an actual car into just
because you have no rush to get to class. Leave space, but keep the pace!
3: DON’T HUG CORNERS
You are doing great! So far you’ve kept a cool pace and haven’t ran anyone
over, and the right lane as been your guidance to your next class! But there
is a hazard that comes with walking. That hazard is the corner hug calamity.
You come wrapping around a corner tightly, while a fellow classmate
ignores rule one and hugs their left corner even tighter. You connect with a
ferocious force of awkwardness, and a snowstorm of papers follow suite.
Like a deer in a headlight you stare one another down for a moment,
unable to understand how that person could be so careless, dumb even! To
avoid moments where you want just lash out in anger, it’s recommended
you don’t hug corners! Give a wide turn into the connecting hall, for you
safety and everyone else’s. Keep your pride intact, turns should be exact!
