A hero to our nation,
defied the odds,
turned the other cheek,
resisted to fight back.
The colored comet to some,
the dark destroyers to others.
A military sergeant,
risked his life for his country.
Did something no black man ever did,
defied racial inequality,
fought for what he believed was right,
An inspiration to many today,
