A Collection of Letters from an Angel

By China Ciongoli

//

Dear 98 year old woman,

You are in your bed.

A soft pillow for your body.

It will be the last thing you feel against your skin.

You will no longer have human touch. But it’s ok.

The memories you made will never be forgotten between your family members.

Your funeral will be filled with every blooming flower.

Those flowers represent your life.

While you die, they will grow with each passing day.

//

Dear 4 year old with cancer,

You have made friends. And the best part is, you see them every day.

You are among the lucky ones having people wait on you hand and foot.

You will be remembered as the little kid with the smile on his face

Because you have not know defeat yet.
