The Everyday Life of a Hero

My cape is too long,

or so I'm told.

They tell me to get a new one

because apparently this one

doesn't look good.

I'm not strong enough,

or so they say.

I should go back home

before anyone else

gets hurt.

I can't run fast enough,

they tell me again.

So why bother if I can only save a few

and leave some others

behind?

And as time goes on,

no one ever notices

the things that I can do.

But it doesn't bother me

because I know I'm doing right.
