A Plea for Scott Disick
By: Caitlin Leasure
There is a common misconception among those reality-TV-goers who “keep up” with the Kardashians: Scott Disick (and I quote) “is a Class A JERK.” What many do not realize is that dear Mr. Disick is tragically misunderstood: he is only trying to be accepted by girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian’s family. Disick may come off as a jerk or other variations of the word most of the time, but only because he is still struggling to find the right ratio of honesty and sarcasm. I am in no way saying that some of his actions are right, I am only offering an alternate view point to the situation, and pleading some lenience towards Scott Disick. Let’s look at the big picture here: over all, Disick is not a jerk, but rather an honest, confident person who tries to have a good time.
matter of minutes that he is well associated with the health industry and night club promotion; so just through his job, he is promoting the health and happiness of others. I have watched the Kardashian show myself (to further my knowledge of the situation, of course), and Mr. Disick is my favorite by far; sure his actions may be rash sometimes, but they end up making me laugh, so he is again promoting the health and happiness of viewers of the show, even if by extreme measures.
It can be said that Scott Disick has no filter, that he says whatever he wants whenever he wants, which is basically true. If you turn the tables around, though, he is obviously just a very honest person, and most of the time people do not realize that. Isn’t there a saying that goes “honesty is the best policy?” Many people believe this to be true, so is it really that bad that Disick speaks his mind? I think not. Yes, he may be brutally honest at times, but at least he is not bottling things up, which is said to be unhealthy — so by speaking his mind freely, he is promoting his own welfare. There was one instance during the family’s recent vacation to Bora Bora when Disick mentioned “a ‘tanker’ in the ocean, Mama J assumes he is comparing her body to a hundred-ton ship.” Granted, Disick was not talking about Kris Jenner when he mentioned the ship, but it could be argued that his blunt personality had caused Jenner to think otherwise. If you really take the time to ponder the things that Disick says, you will find that he is only honest, maybe brutally sometimes, but overall just simply honest. It can be implied that honesty is a healthy thing to possess, along with confidence; and it just so happens that Disick has plenty of that.
