They, too, have been brainwashed into believing this idea of a perfect woman out there that is beautiful and flawless when they have yet to realize that most of the woman advertised do not exist in such a way.
After seeing the reality of advertising through a woman’s point of view, it is obvious that most of the advertisements are demeaning to women and this situation should not be taken lightly. If women want to be beautiful, they should be happy with who they are without adding additional features to please themselves, not to please others. Whether it be an audience or men in general, there should always be independence in a women that must be shown.
Little girls should be playing with Barbie dolls, not trying to look like one. Throughout the world, parents enter their daughters in beauty pageants, but are these pageants destroying the child’s life, adulthood, and childhood? Beauty Pageants are unhealthy and demeaning to girls of all ages who compete for the titles of Grand Supreme or Ultimate Grand Supreme. Each year, 2.5 million girls compete in beauty pageants, but a high number do not realize that the pageants brainwash the girls at such a young age.
Beauty pageants help young girls grow up way too fast and not always in the right way. Pageants strip away young girls' innocence and makes them self-centered, transforming them from sweet-faced little angels into harsh-minded and selfish demons. Dressing up and throwing young girls in adult clothing, heavy makeup, and spraying to look like a carrot strips them of their youth. Pageant contestants do not have the life of a normal child. They do not have time to play with friends or even go to school. The girls that compete are usually home-schooled or do not even go to school because in their eyes the pageant comes first. The children become way too focused on pageants that they do not want to do anything else but sit in a chair and struggle to act as miniature live Barbie Dolls.
