The Town of Jupiter is an entitlement recipient of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Community Development Block Grant Program. The Town will be receiving approximately $310,000 of CDBG funds for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. The funds seek to address the community development and housing needs within the municipal limits of the Town by achieving the overall goal of decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic development opportunities principally for low and moderate-income persons. The 2019 meetings will be held on January 30th at 11 am and 6 pm at the Jupiter Community Center (200 Military Trail) in Meeting Room A. MAR 7 Association Officer & Director Certification March 7, 2019 6 – 8:00 pm Jupiter Community Center Town of Jupiter residents can fulfill State of Florida community association officer and director certification requirements, and learn valuable information regarding how associations are regulated and governed. This program is designed to assist volunteers seeking to comply with the Homeowners’ Association Act, as well as the Condominium Act, requiring that officers and directors complete a certification course. The presentation will include practical tips on legal requirements for budgeting, reserves, elections, financial reporting, general operations, records maintenance, and dispute resolution. This program is for those who are volunteering, those who want to volunteer, and those who are simply seeking a better understanding of how their condominium or homeowners’ association community should operate. Cops & Toddlers: Connecting Tots with our Local Heroes March 6 • 9:30 am Jupiter Community Center Back by popular demand, bring your toddlers to meet their local police department heroes and learn about different safety topics while enjoying a morning snack. Jupiter Police Department Annual Soccer Tournament The Jupiter Police Department will host its 7th Annual Soccer Tournament on Saturday, March 16th at Jupiter Community Park. This soccer tournament is held in partnership with El Sol, Jupiter's Neighborhood Resource Center. While the soccer tournament showcases some pretty talented players, there is also plenty of fun for kids and families to enjoy throughout the day. Busch Wildlife, Palm Beach Fire & Rescue, and the Jupiter Police K9 Unit will each put on an entertaining and educating demonstration, and there will be face-painting, balloon animals, and a bounce house for the kids. Remember to bring your appetite, and enjoy some tasty treats as you watch the soccer teams duke it out. Plan to bring your friends and family! The annual soccer tournament is an initiative of the Jupiter Police Department to create an avenue for interaction between the community and the Police in a safe, fun environment. Jupiter Police Department Citizen Survey The Jupiter Police Department’s citizen survey is part of a continuing effort to provide professional and efficient police services to residents of the Town of Jupiter. Responses will be used to evaluate the service you have received, recognize positive performance, and identify opportunities for improvement. Pedestrian and Bike Safety High Visibility Enforcement For the fourth year in a row, the Jupiter Police Department is participating in the Pedestrian and Bike Safety High Visibility Enforcement campaign. This safety enforcement campaign is scheduled now through May 2019. JPD is committed to the safety of the pedestrians, motorists, and bicyclists who utilize our roadways and this campaign will continue to promote increased safety and awareness. Please visit www.jupiter.fl.us/bikepedsafety for more information on the campaign including safety tips and resources. 2019 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program Your neighborhood may be eligible to receive a grant! The application for the 2019 Town of Jupiter Neighborhood Matching Grant program will be available online the first week of February and will be due March 15, 2019. A workshop is scheduled for February 7, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Jupiter Community Center. Communities who send at least one representative to the workshop will receive an additional 10 points on their application. HOA property managers representing a community will NOT receive the bonus points.
