It ’ s time to celebrate ! The month of July is Parks and Recreation month , and it ’ s a chance for us to remind our residents of the numerous recreational opportunities that are available not only at the Jupiter Community Center , but in all of our parks and natural areas . This year ’ s theme , “ A Lifetime of Discovery ,” magnifies the role that parks and recreation programs play in encouraging residents to explore different aspects of their communities , such as science , technology , art , nature , physical and mental wellness , and much more .
We ' re doing that right here in our community ! For instance , as part of our summer camp program , kids will have the chance to get outside and learn about environmental awareness while painting and crafting with green recycled items in our Art and Nature Camp . This camp is designed to encourage artistic expression and attention to the beauty and details in nature .
Another way we ' re keeping with the Lifetime of Discovery theme is through some of the more innovative health and wellness opportunities we offer . We have programs that focus specifically on our 55 + population , including our Pickleball open play and Senior Softball Association . Pickleball , a combination of ping pong , tennis and badminton is the fastest growing sport in the country , and open play opportunities are available year-round at three area locations . The Jupiter Senior Softball Association also plays games year-round every Monday , Wednesday and Friday at Jupiter Community Park . Both of these sports offer not only physical activity , but also the opportunity to be social .

▶ There will be no classes or programs held at the Jupiter Community Center on Tuesday , August 28 , 2018 .
▶ Polls will be open at the Community Center on Tuesday , August 28 , 2018 from 7:00am-7:00pm for the Palm Beach County Primary Election .
▶ The Community Center will be closed for annual maintenance from Wednesday , August 29 through Wednesday , September 5 , 2018 .

IN THE SPOTLIGHT JTAA Golf Tournament
September 8 , 2018 • 1:00 pm Turtle Creek Country Club
The Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association ( JTAA ) is holding its inaugural Golf Tournament fundraiser on Saturday , September 8th at the Turtle Creek Country Club in Tequesta . Tournament proceeds will allow JTAA to invest in added resources and provide new opportunities to develop the kids in our community to be the athletes of tomorrow .
