Every year in the spring the Art Committee collaborates with local schools to exhibit student artwork in the Jupiter Community Center . The submissions are judged , and winning students receive prizes . A big congratulations to the winners and a thank-you to all of the participants and the teachers for a job well done .

Stop by Town Hall at 2:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month from September through December for help filing your 2019 Homestead Exemption application . The Palm Beach County Property Appraiser ’ s Office , Division of Education Services , will be on-hand at Town Hall in Jupiter to take your Homestead Exemption application and answer any property valuation questions you may have .

In order to qualify for this exemption , you must hold the legal title to a residential property by January 1 of the application year , and the property for which you are seeking exemption must be your primary , permanent residence . You also must be a legal resident of Florida by January 1 of the initial application year . Applications are accepted by mail or in-person at any time throughout the year , but in order for the exemption to be considered for the upcoming tax year , the application must be received by March 1 of the qualifying year .

A copy of your deed and proof of residency is required . For proof of residency , you may submit a copy of your Florida driver ' s license , voter registration or permanent residency card . In lieu of a pending permanent resident alien card , the Federal Form I485 , “ Approval Notice for Application to adjust to Permanent Resident Status ,” is accepted .

Exemptions available include : Up to $ 25,000 Homestead Exemption ; Additional $ 25,000 Homestead Exemption ; Senior Citizen Exemption ; $ 5,000 Disabled Veterans Exemption ; Combat-disabled Senior Veterans Exemption ; and the $ 500 Widow / Widower Exemption .

Jupiter Business Owners : Business Tax Renewal Season is July 1 – Sept . 30

The State of Florida requires all businesses to renew their business tax receipt ( BTR ) on an annual basis . The renewal season begins July 1 and runs through September 30 .

Guides are available online to help you login , renew your license , build your invoice , pay and print your 2019 Business License from home .
