Jupiter Designated
a Tree City for 20
Straight Years
JUPITER
POLICE
DEPARTMENT
The close of 2017 marks the 20th straight year
the Town of Jupiter has been a Tree City USA
Community as designated by the Arbor Day
Foundation.
The Tree City USA program has aimed to make
cities and towns more green-conscious across
the country since 1976. It is a nation-wide
movement that helps communities manage
and expand their public trees.
ShoP
COP
On December 7, 2017, the Town of Jupiter hosted its annual “Shop with a Cop” event. Marking its 5th year, this
event pairs local children from different elementary schools in Jupiter with a Jupiter Police Department Officer
for a night of shopping to purchase presents for the children's families. This year’s event hosted 17 children se-
lected from local schools who took a ride with a Police Officer in their patrol car to Walmart and shopped together
to find the perfect gifts. The Town of Jupiter is grateful to Little Smiles and Roger Dean Stadium who helped to
make this event possible.

Jupiter is one of more than 3,400 municipalities
who have committed to becoming a Tree City
by achieving these four core standards:
• Maintain a tree board or department
• Implement a tree care ordinance
• Adopt an annual tree budget of at least $2
per person living in the town
• Officially recognize and proclaim Arbor Day
Jupiter’s Natural Resources Department helps
to make Jupiter a more green-friendly town
and continues to make sure we are a Tree City
from year to year.

operations throughout the Town of Jupiter from
now until May 2018. In an effort to educate and
remind residents and visitors on the safe behaviors
to be followed, officers will be providing traffic safety
educational materials to pedestrians, bicyclists, and
