1913 Aicher Historic House Finds a Permanent Home
This Spring , the 1913 Aicher House will be moved to a permanent location at Sawfish Bay Park , beside the historic FEC Train Depot . The Aicher House was saved by the Town on March 16 , 2017 when it was moved across the street from its original location on Florida Avenue to a temporary spot at Old Town Hall Park . The Historic House was originally built by Jupiter pioneer Harry Aicher when he was a teenager . Dana Anderson , who purchased the home in the last few years , agreed to donate it to the Town rather than tear it down to make way for a new home . The preservation of this Aicher House and the future Train Depot Museum will educate visitors of Jupiter ’ s important history , and the permanent location at Sawfish Bay Park will allow residents to enjoy it for many years to come . Here are some interesting facts about the 1913 Aicher house and its pioneer inhabitants :
• It was built on property owned by Dr . Ferdinand Constantine Aicher , who owned all of the area around Old Town Hall Park .
• Constantine Aicher was married to Ella May Carlin , the third child of Charles and Mary Carlin ( Carlin House and Jupiter Life Saving Station ). Constantine was employed by William Sperry at the Sperry House from 1904 to 1909 .
• Harry Aicher ( a Town Councilor from 1928-1930 ) married Alma Blount ( aka Alma B . Holden ) in 1925 , and ran the Aicher Store in “ West Jupiter ” and was the Jupiter postmaster from 1934-1953 .
