Hurricane Season Begins June 1st . Being Prepared is the Best Strategy .
If there is anything that the last two hurricane seasons have taught us , it ’ s that being prepared is truly the best option . As Floridians , we should all err on the side of caution by preparing for an active hurricane season .
While hurricanes may not directly hit our area , severe weather may still impact us in the form of a tropical depression or tropical storm . Every homeowner and business owner should prepare for events that may cause local erosion , flooding , wind damage and possible tornadoes .
Similarly , the Town hopes for the best and prepares for the worst in its storm and severe weather preparations . Town staff works year-round to ensure the safety of residents and local resources .
The best preparation is to have a plan . For tips on how , visit www . jupiter . fl . us / STORM for the latest Hurricane and Flood Guide , tips on drainage maintenance , evacuation routes , safety measures , important emergency numbers , and valuable resources from Palm Beach County and the National Flood Insurance Program , among others .
