October 26th was the date in which the students from 4th semester of the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management of Unicolombo, celebrated the World Teachers' Day.

This is the reason why all professors of the bachelor were invited to share with the students this special day. The celebration started at 9:20 a.m. and finish at 10:20 a.m. in Los Mangos block.

According to Unesco, this event has been celebrated annually on 5 October since 1994, and "commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers" (Unesco, 2018). This year’s theme proposed by Unesco was: The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher.

This activity was a initiative from the subject Event Logistics, leaded by professor Lina Vera, so the students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in the class room, related to etiquette and protocol for events, teamwork, verbal and non verbal communication, and the stages of planning an event: Pre and Post event activities.

Some of the teachers that were present: Katia Román, Rafael Flórez, Sonia Durán, Juan Manuel Ortíz , Giselle Gonzáles and Maritza Gómez.
