The research group about gastronomy, belonging to the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management started a cycle of trainings about hygiene and food handing, for the students who are part of this group.

The first meet was hold the 4th October 2018 with the explanation of the Decree 3075 of 1997 related to the hygiene and food handing, which was imparted by professor Carlos Pinto, chef international cuisine.

This is the beginning of a project with the community, specially with the formal and informal restaurants located around Unicolombo. This project consist of four important phases which aims to promote good hygiene conditions for preparation, distribution and sale of food.

The students who received this training are enrolled in third and fourth semester, and they will have the opportunity to know what are the healthy cooking and heating practices presently implemented by the restaurants that they will visit. Then, they will learn about the practices that are not being applied and invite the owners of these restaurants to get the new information.

That is the reason why the objective of this first encounter it is to know what does the decree says, what are the present practices and raise awareness amongst the owners of the restaurants nearby Unicolombo, with respect to the importance of hygiene and food handing.

This campaign will be organized with the support of the research group Eco Friendly,in order to share knowledge about the solid waste management.
