Bridgeland

20
Though it ’ s long been known as Little Italy for its collection of Italian restaurants , this neighbourhood has since cultivated a mix of diverse places to eat .
E AT
Bridgeland has a selection of popular spots for breakfast including O . E . B . ( 1 ) and Blue Star Diner ( 2 ). Arrive early to the hip ramen bar Shiki Menya ( 3 ), ( we recommend before 1 pm ) as they only prepare 150 bowls a day of their delectable homemade noodles and broth that usually run out by 3 pm . For fine dining , take a seat at Whitehall ( 4 ). This contemporary British restaurant is owned and served by Michelin Star Chef Neil McCue . It has a gin bar and approachable dishes that combine local ingredients with casual British fare .
SHOP
Enter Luke ’ s Drug Mart ( 5 ) to find one-of-a-kind goods from vinyl records to Four Barrel coffee beans from San Francisco . Coveted Boutique ( 6 ) sells contemporary clothing , pampering products , and accessories for women . In Greater Goods ( 7 , pictured ) you ’ ll find accessories and décor by local makers , as well as a tea bar with a selection of locally-blended loose leaf teas .

The Calgary Zoo ( 8 ) is located on St . George ’ s Island in the middle of the Bow River and is home to wild animals from all over the world including penguins , tigers , and gorillas ! Exercise your brain at TELUS Spark ( 9 ), Calgary ’ s Science Centre , where hands-on exploration is encouraged in the exhibits and outdoor play park — or take in a show in the HD digital dome theatre .
This neighbourhood located in the southwest is full of restaurants , bars , and shops and is easy to get around on foot .
