HUGE MOMENTUM AFTER DEBUT RELEASE , DED RE-CHARTS NEW COURSE FOR SOPHOMORE EFFORT DUE TO PANDEMIC .

One of the hardest things to do in the music business is separate yourself from the pack . With their smash debut Mis-An-Thrope , Ded had begun to do that very thing . Endless support tours , working with bands like In This Moment and more . They had all the momentum a band would need going into the next album . Your into the studio for a year to create the release that ’ s going to jettison you into major act status . Then ................ stop , no release date , no promotional tour , no tour dates . With a change in strategy , Ded is beginning to rebuild the momentum . From a location in New York , Joe Cotela recaps the past years and talks about the future plans for Ded .
How have you guys been holding up ? Have you guys been able to finish the second album ?
JOE : Actually , the album is done . We released the first single right before we went into quarantine . It was the worst time ever . We had all these plans for it . Everything at this point is still being rethought . We ’ ve released three songs now that are all part of the album . We have another one coming soon with a music video so I ’ m pushing to release the whole album soon with that new track , but there are a few things , and we have to get everyone lined-up to do that .
Did you guys have a plan how to re-market the album ?

JOE : We were like , shit , what do we do now . I mean to never be in that scenario and then to weigh it out so many different ways . Do you just release it and it is what it is or do you trickle it out because we are still all kind of stuck in this . It ’ s hard . You work so hard on something and you spend all this money on it , I mean we recorded the album over a year ’ s time and you really want to give it your best shot . ( Continued on next spread )
