Creative Arts

JCL delegates are also able to express their artistic style through costumes and drama. There are costume contests, the themes for this year: boys - Odysseus; girls - Circe; couple - Scylla and Chraybdis. The costumes are detailed and precise. Delegates can also read Latin in Dramatic Interpretation, Latin Oratory, and Sight Latin Reading. A flashback to the Roman times, the performances are entrancing. The English Oratory, Essay, and Slogan contests test the delegate's ability to be creative in the English language.

National Election

After the Nominations Committee meeting on day two, campaigning for next year's officers begins. Candidates give speeches at Nominations Committee and General Assembly III, and answer questions at Meet the Candidates and Officer's Open Forum. Check out the Campaign Corner, made by the NJCL Parliamentarian Amanda Hansen. Running for office is a great experience no matter the results as it helps you make new friends and challenge yourself.
