What are you most excited to do as an officer?
I am excited to get to know the new board, as well as continue finding new ways to improve the website and app. I am also looking forward to collaborating with each officer to achieve what they want for the WJCL.
What new initiatives do you plan to pursue?
I am looking to greatly expand the capabilities of the mobile app, with potential new functions including JCL reference material, means of communication with other JCLers, and convention specific information. I am also planning on continuing to organize, improve, and document the website to make sure it is among the best in the NJCL.
Do you have any advice for future candidates?
If you’re unsure, just run! My school sends only around 10 people each year, and had never had a person on the board, but I now feel just as much a part of the WJCL as anyone else. Also, stand out from the other candidates—people remember someone unique.
What three things would you take to a desert island besides food and water?
Chapstick (because I’m addicted), a comfortable chair, and a plane so I can fly off the desert island.
Skittles or M&Ms?
M&Ms because I’m not a heathen. Unless the Skittles are sour Skittles.
