OFFICERS’ ADVICE TO THEIR SUCCESSORS
For a Tech Co, putting stuff on
the website isn’t everything.
There’s also telling people that
you put stuff on the website.
Set your deadlines really early, and don’t
forget to add the JCL Creed and Song to the
convention program.
—Margot Armbruster, Editor
—Michael Ginn, Tech Co
The most important thing is
communicating so you know
where everyone is and where
they're going.
—Shir Bloch, President
Remember your email password (I forgot
mine and had to reset it like 5 times.)
Don't be afraid to push for big
changes. Get creative in how you
solve problems and talk to many
people in the WJCL for input.
Passing amendments is a much
better process when you've thought
out every possible angle.
—Simran Khunger, Parliamentarian
—Alex Castroverde, Treasurer
New initiatives are hard to get
off the ground, so don't lose
faith. Keep reaching out to
people, because the reward is
getting to share the JCLove with
more classics enthusiasts.
Get reckless. Get rowdy.
—Silma Berrada, Second VP
—Vibhu Kolli, First VP
Always pay attention at board meetings.
One minute nothing is happening and
the next you’ve missed the Treasury
Report and half of the Parliamentarian
Update.
—Sabrina Zhong, Secretary
Always take pictures. You may
never know if you captured that
one unexplainably amazing
moment if you don’t take any
photos at all. Taking more is much
better than taking less!
—Stefania Potter, Historian
