WJCL BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR ROME
BY MARGOT ARMBRUSTER
After celebrating Rome and the Latin language throughout National
Classics Week, the WJCL decided to end the week with a birthday
party for everyone’s favorite city— Rome. Attendees enjoyed cake
and snacks, played soccer, attempted to organize a balloon race
that met an untimely death after the majority of the balloons popped
in the grass, and spent about twenty minutes trying to hang up a
birthday banner before draping it across the table, defeated.
WJCL 2nd Vice President Katie McCarthy, who organized the event
along with Treasurer Mark Bechthold, says that the party was “an
amazing event not only because of the cake, but also because of the
involvement of the WJCLers; everyone who came had an amazing
time. I hope the event becomes annual and that more people become
involved in WJCL events.”
