VOICES:

NJCL OFFICERS

Salvete, amici!

First of all, I've loved seeing all your National Classics Week submissions. I was very excited to see all your interpretations of the theme, Ancient Cities, and you all did not disappoint. It was so inspiring to take part in a week-long celebration of the classics with thousands of JCLers across the country. Witnessing everyone's passion for this ancient language reminds me that "Lingua Latina non mortua est!"

In the time between now and national convention, I highly encourage everyone to submit to the JCL Publicity and Membership contests. I made a guide to submissions via the link bit.ly/1VPContests, so please check it out! I've also been working on a comprehensive guidebook for local and state 1st VPs that I will be releasing before the end of my term. It makes me sad that my term and JCL career is almost over, but it brings me joy to reflect on my fond memories as a national officer and JCLer.

I know I'm not the only one who's counting down the days until Nationals. I can't wait to see all of your bright, smiling faces at North Dakota State University this summer!

NJCL 1st Vice President 2018-2019

Salvete omnes!

Tempus fugit! I can’t believe the year is already coming to a close. I am so excited that the time for NJCL convention is approaching! I can’t wait to see everyone in Fargo this summer.

I have enjoyed reading and providing feedback to website contest submissions throughout the year. It is great to have so many entries and an increasing online presence for the JCL. It is clear how much work you all have put into these sites; I am so excited to have been able to witness and contribute to some of your websites and hard work. Unfortunately, the website contest final deadline has passed, but I look forward to seeing the final results. If you are at all interested in started a website for your local or state chapter, please email me at [email protected]!

Thank you all for such a great year! See you in July,

Natalie Hilderbrand
