I got together with some kids from Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Nevada and travelled to Miami, for some hard work and good times. I am sad to say that my time as a JCLer has come to an end, but fifty years from now, I’ll still be proud to proclaim that I was once among you a JCLer at NJCL convention. I’ll always cherish my experiences, my fellow delegates, my state chairs, my sponsors, and most of all, you. Thank you JCL, and for the last time, valete omnes.

A Dream Come True

On top of that, we had 18 prefiled candidates and no states of emergency! From there, we elected 7 qualified JCLers to lead our organization for the next year. Thank you to all of you who came out to the Nominations Committee Meeting, Constitutional Amendment Meeting, and Open Forum! Your vote matters.

It’s been a privilege working with student leaders from all over the country, and the NJCL is in some very good hands with the new board! Again, thank you for being the heart of my last four years. It’s been a dream come true.

Everlasting Memories

Salvete amici! I sincerely hope that you all enjoyed this year’s national convention as much as I did. It was such a surreal experience, seeing the hard work and goals of my incredible board come to life on such a large scale, and we could not have made it happen without your never ending enthusiasm.

It is that very enthusiasm which has made me proud to be a member of the JCL. You are all individuals who

As I pass my board and I pass our torches to our promising successors, we all are reflecting on the wonderful people the JCL has brought into our lives, and the memories we have fostered with them. I will always hold my JCL memories close to my heart, and I will miss this organization greatly.

and I owe it all to the incredibly enthusiastic, welcoming people of JCL. Everyone - the senior who started up a conversation with me at my first state convention, the friends who roadtripped with me to JCL meetings around the state, and the amazing board I was blessed to work with this year - have taught me so much about love, friendship, and toga-tying.

It has been a true honor and privilege to serve you for the past year, and I hope the rest of the board and I have made you proud. Thank you all for your creativity, your passion, and your friendship. See you in Fargo!

JCL, I truly owe it all to you You’ve become a second family and a dependable community for me to lean on throughout the years. Thank you for believing in me, and this past year serving you have been an honor.

I loved seeing all of you at convention! We had a productive week. We passed 9 new amendments to the Constitution, and 3 amendments to the Bylaws.

are eager to learn, eager to help, and eager to embrace one another in the spirit of Cicero’s words: “I urge you, as much as I am able, to place friendship before all human issues.” In my six years of JCL bliss, I have seen these words come to life, as students from across the nation seek out true friendships on the common ground of loving and appreciating the ancient worlds of Greece and Rome.

Dearest JCL, I keep struggling to find the words to thank you for the wonderful impact you have had on me. I know we all share a similar story of how this organization helped us become our best selves, but it still rings true no matter how many times it is told. So here's how my story goes. I have transformed from a freshman who began high school too shy to raise her
