Bump, set, spike — JCLers started their last day of convention with Ludi Volleyball and an awards assembly that lauded their many accomplishments. After lunch, the dramatic certamen finals buzzed to a close. A double colloquiua session featuring the officer-specific colloquia was a great time of idea-sharing for state officers. For the last time that week, JCLers processed into the General Assembly, where Mark Bechthold (WI) was announced as the new NJCL president, and the torch (a real torch!) was passed from Alabama to Ohio, who will be hosting next year’s convention. The final night’s events included a lip sync competition, World Series of Certamen, and, of course, the farewell dance. As the evening drew to a close, JCLers walked to state fellowship filled with JCLove and cherishing the new friendships made this week.

Saturday had all the JCLers bidding farewell not to only Troy, but to Alabama and, too,and friends both new and old as an unforgettable convention drew to a close. Troy was a rollercoaster of an adventure. Although our time there didn’t last for ten years, the memories we made will last a lifetime.
