CFVE’s conduct these safety exams year round with a minimum of 2 examiners at each exam. They also assist with exams in other major fishing ports such as Barnegat Light and Cape May. There is an extensive hands-on qualification process to become a CFVE. It includes attendance at exams, two day F/V Drill Instructor’s Course and culminates in a Quals Board held at District/Phila. We are active in Public Affair, with 1 member recently certified as a PA3 Specialist. We have 49 Instructors, 50 VE’s and 20 PV’s. As with all other units in the Auxiliary, one of our primary objectives is growth through recruiting and Public Affair events. We may be small, but we are very proud of our accomplishments and of our support to the United States Coast Guard.
