Another ‘Hoof & Hook’ event has come and gone
again just like that, and the committee is already
hard at working planning the 2019 event. In case you
haven’t heard the news already, we’re on the move
and next year’s event will be held in Masterton a the
beautiful Solway Showgrounds!
This year’s event was slightly back in entry numbers
but I believe the event was still successful and that
competitors enjoyed the new modules on offer. We
have had lots of positive feedback through our
survey since the event as well as a few things to
work on. If you competed but didn’t complete the
survey, I strongly encourage you to after next year’s
event, as committee heavily relies on feedback from
the survey each year to help plan future events.

This newsletter is largely filled with the results from
the 2018 ‘Hoof & Hook’ competition including profiles
on our 2018 Allflex Beef Ambassadors, Jessica and
Lucy. 2017 Senior Beef Ambassador, Hannah Gibb,

event.
At this year’s ‘Hoof & Hook’ prize giving we
recognised a very special group of people for their
continued support of FBNZ and the ‘Hoof & Hook’
competition. These people were Robyn How
(Tararua Breeding Centre), Lorraine Langtry,
Malcolm & Ingrid McConochie (Lake Station
Herefords), Peter McWilliam (Maungaraki Cattle
