FBNZ Committee Changes for 2018

The recently held Future Beef AGM saw some changes to the Future Beef New Zealand committee for 2018 ...
Introduction of the “ Working Committee ” The need for the creation of a “ working committee ” was highlighted by the executive after our 2017 event . The working committee will play a vital role in the running of the ‘ Hoof & Hook ’ event , in the form of ring stewards , packing-up and packing-down the event , entering results over the weekend , meat works carcass grading , event photography and so on . Many of the individuals on this committee already help out in these roles every year at the competition , but the Executive committee felt it was time to more formally recognise this group of people and the outstanding contribution they make to the successful running of the event .
Changes to the Executive Committee Marc formally introduced a Vice Chairperson position to the committee , congratulations to Lauren Cameron who was voted into the position . Lauren has been a member of the executive committee for 4 yeas now and before joining the committee competed in the competition herself , winning the Allflex Senior Beef Ambassador title in 2012 . Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role , from both her experience with Future Beef ‘ Hoof & Hook ’ competition but also her wider industry involvement , currently working as the Eastern North Island Extension Manager for B + LNZ .
We welcomed Sam Tipping to the Executive committee as our new Treasurer and Robyn How stepped down from the executive committee .
Robyn has been a member of the executive committee since Future Beef was first formed in 2006 ; Robyn ’ s input to the committee during these 12 years has been invaluable and she has been one of the key people in ensuring the grow and continued success of the Future Beef NZ movement . On behalf of the executive , sponsors , parents , past and present Future Beef members and all other FBNZ supporters we extend a our heartfelt thanks to Robyn for the commitment and passion that she has given over her time on the executive committee . We look forward to still seeing you at the Future Beef NZ ‘ Hoof & Hook ’ event this year and in future years as part the newly formed working committee .
Introducing SAM TIPPING , our new FBNZ Treasurer and Executive Committee member ...
My involvement with Future Beef NZ ( FBNZ ) has been short but I have enjoyed it all the same . Second year at Massey , I was encouraged to give the competition ago with the help of Hannah Gibb and Gemma Dorotich . I competed for the next two years whilst at University and after leaving Uni I helped with the stewarding at the most recent show . I got into the beef scene when I started my Hereford stud , Kamaro in 2013 and have been immersed in the culture ever since .
I have been with BNZ for the past 11 months where I was based out of Hawkes Bay for my grad programme and then moving to Masterton and Hamilton covering roles on secondment . I am currently in Hamilton as an Agribusiness Partner looking after the Taranaki /
Whanganui areas with customers being dairy , dry stock and a few other interesting industries thrown in the mix .
I know I will not only be a great treasurer for FBNZ with my banking experience that I currently have and into the future but also bring a new set of eyes and cranium to the table . I would like to thank the Future Beef NZ Committee for the opportunity to join their team and
look forward to the year ahead .
