#9–10 / 2020 TF
The first of three pre-production
Falcon 6X aircraft that will
take part in flight certification
has been powered up and is now
undergoing ground testing.
The two remaining aircraft are
in advanced stages of assembly
and production of long-cycle
parts for serial manufacturing
has already started. Certification
and entry into service are
scheduled for 2022, in keeping
with the original timetable.
The second test jet has recently
had its wings mated to the
fuselage, and the third aircraft
is in the early stages of final
assembly. Each of them will
be heavily instrumented and,
like aircraft no. 1, will be capable
of testing of flight performance
and on-board systems.
The third prototype will receive
a full-fledged cabin to evaluate
functionality of systems, sound
insulation, air conditioning,
comfort and other factors. Interior
decorations, environmental
systems, electronics and other
equipment are currently being
tested in a ground test rig prior
to installation on the aircraft.
