Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude It wasn’t long ago that Quebec’s Fairfield Circuitry burst onto the scene and delivered a handful of original circuits in Spartan enclosures. Fairfield’s first pedal was the Randy’s Revenge—a ring modulator—and let this lay the groundwork of the type of forward thinking that Guillaume Fairfield is capable of bringing to the boutique table. It should come as no surprise, then, that Fairfield’s foray into analog delay is a doozy. The Meet Maude contains an onboard compressor circuit for exceptionally smooth repeats that muddy up quickly just like a real analog delay should. A Tone knob helps darken 28 TONE TALK // up the repeats, or lighten them up as the built-in compressor smooths out any spikes. An integrated modulation circuit is added to the mix by flicking the associated switch.
