Toneczar Echoczar If there’s one company on this list that begs the brand “boutique,” its California’s Toneczar, whose product line contains no pedal cheaper than $345. This line contains several types of effects, but it’s the Echoczar we’re talking about here. If one were to pay for the full Echoczar experience, it would set them back a cool $1,260 (Echoczar in a polished enclosure, plus Angel Baby foot controller in a polished enclosure). Devotees of the brand claim that this steep price is absolutely worth it, and the feature set backs this up. With the Angel Baby, users have access to three delay channels and three different chorus settings. The core unit also contains controls for bypassing the onboard effects loop, Vintage and Modern modes, a Phase switch, a Multi-Head switch that does both Slapback and Reverb, and a Safety knob, which controls how hard players want the feedback to introduce itself into the signal. Three footswitches adorn the unit: the requisite Bypass, channel selector and Feedback switch, which sends the delay spiraling out of control. ToneReport.com 27
