CATHEDRAL
The Cathedral is EHX’s modern entry into
the reverb arena. With eight reverb types,
stereo capability, presets, a generous
control set, and the super cool Tap/Infinite
switch, this is the ‘verb that can do it all.
Modes include Grail Spring, Accu Spring,
Hall, Room, Plate, Reverse, Grail Flerb,
and Echo, giving you a bonus delay mode.
With the ability to store eight presets,
you have all the reverb you could ever
need. Controls for Blend, Reverb Time,
Damping/Tone, Feedback, and Pre-Delay
allow you to shape each reverb type to
your liking, offering both classic and far-
out ‘verb sounds. The infinite switch is
especially fun in Echo mode, as it acts like a
hold switch, creating infinite echo repeats
for you to play over, creating perfect
backdrop drones. Perhaps the best part
about the Cathedral is its relatively low
price, compared to other reverb pedals
with similar feature sets. It’s easy to
overlook some pedals when they’ve been
out for a while because there are so many
options out there, but if you’re looking for
a quality, do-it-all reverb stompbox, make
sure you take walk through the halls of the
Cathedral before you make up your mind.
