h o l i e st g r a i l This one is the old school granddaddy of them all. Housed in a handsome black enclosure, the holiest reverb of them all has a control for input gain, a predelay section with time and feedback controls, a reverb section with decay, damping and diffusion controls, an output mixer with dry, spring, and reverb levels, the ability to store four presets accessible via two dedicated footswitches, midi capability, stereo outputs, and expression pedal capability. It was one of the first fullfeatured stompbox reverbs, offering 34 TONE TALK // reverb junkies a chance to tweak to their heart’s content. Need a subtle spring sound with a low mix? You got it. Want epic ‘verb with a long predelay and lengthy tails? No problem. The ability to switch between subtle and wacky presets is both useful and a lot of fun, and you’d be hard pressed to find a cooler looking reverb pedal on the planet. Like the Holier Grail, this is no longer in production, but it can be found with some good oldfashioned Internet scouring. Seek the Grail: The Reverb Evolution of Electro-Harmonix
