creamy smooth sustain. This
made for a more robust
rhythm sound, but also
worked well for lead work.
I tested the Green
Emphaser, sequentially,
with other pedals. I used
the same, new cabling with
each pedal and powered
each of them using the
same power supply, and I
only ever had one pedal in
the signal path to the amp.
Whereas some of the pedals
were dead quiet, the Green
Emphaser introduced a bit
of noise into the signal path.
It was not enough to be
troublesome in a live playing
situation, but could have
been an issue in a recording
scenario.
WHAT WE LIKE
The small form-factor of
the Emphaser is nice for
crowded pedal boards. The
array of sounds achievable
with a single knob really
makes this pedal easy to
use. The sounds that the
pedal puts out are really
quite nice, and this would be
a good pedal to change up
some of your go-to tones.
CONCERNS
The small size can be a
challenge it too close to
other pedals as you try to
only hit the stomp switch of
a single pedal. The battery
compartment requires
unscrewing the bottom of
the pedal, which is not all
that unusual these days, but
inconvenient. The greatest
concern is the noise I got
from the pedal using the
power supply. Batteries may
yield a quieter result.
