The Lichen Fuzz Overgrowth from Spruce Effects
combines two of the company’s most popular
effects in one box. One side contains Spruce’s
flagship Lichen Fuzz, which consists of two
handmatched germanium devices, while the
other side contains the Growth Ring boost pedal,
another germanium-equipped effect. Both
pedals combine to create an all-germanium rock
machine that’s hand-built in California.

THINGS UP WITH THE BRIGHT
SWITCH
Rock Stock Pedals recognizes the need
for good lighting. The Bright Switch is
the solution. The Bright Switch offers two
five-volt USB outputs in a tiny enclosure.
This allows you to plug in a USB light to
illuminate your pedalboard on a dark stage,
or to charge your mobile device. This is also
a boon for tabletop players who rely on their
tablets for external sound processing.

UNLEASHES THE TEXAS FLOOD
The Texas Flood is based on classic Cesar
Diaz circuits that made up the bulk of
Stevie Ray Vaughan’s signal chain. Diaz
circuits are prized for their tone, but the
crew at CAST Engineering started with one
and made some tweaks and adjustments,
which opened up the transparency of the
circuit while adding more gain. Its tonal
profile has been preserved, however, and it
nails the SRV tone.
