BOSS CE-2W After Boss reissued the muchloved VB-2 Vibrato, we all knew the CE-2 Chorus would soon follow, and here it is. Thanks to the Waza Craft line (Waza means Art and Technique in Japanese) Boss has been reissuing some of their most loved classics. But rather than doing straight-up reissues, it has been adding a little extra magic to each pedal. Guitarists the world over would be thrilled to have a regular CE-2 reissue. But thankfully, that isn’t the Waza way. As a result, we’re going to get all of the classic CE-2 chorus tones and a few new surprises. Those surprises are two modes that seek to recreate the sounds of the “big box” Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, a pedal that was well-used by John Frusciante, Johnny Marr, and a few other fabulous guitarists not named John. And along with the CE-1 Chorus mode, we also get the CE-1 Vibrato mode. With three fantastic sounds in one new pedal, Boss is no doubt back at the top of its game. “SOME GEAR IS READY TO HIT THE STREETS, SOME ARE A FEW MONTHS FROM RELEASE, AND SOME ARE DESTINED FOR YEARS IN LIMBO...” 14 TONE TALK // Best of Summer NAMM 2016
