VOODOO LAB PEDAL POWER 2+ PROS: Standard power supply, so mounting options are plentiful. Isolated outs, Courtesy outlet for external effects. CONS: Somewhat limited for larger boards, will have to buy two units. There’s no way around it—the Pedal Power series is the longest-running power supply in the business, used on boards all over the world. Though Voodoo Lab has released many other supplies in the Pedal Power line, the 2 Plus is the one that comes to mind, not only when mentioning “Voodoo Lab” but when saying the term “isolated power supply” in general. The Pedal Power series uses a toroidal transformer which provides isolation across several outputs. Four “ACA” outputs provide 100mA of current, while two “L6” taps provide 300 each. Two additional “Sag” outputs let users vary the voltage via two miniature knobs, for use on analog pedals, such as fuzzes where users prefer the sound of a depleted battery. One of the handiest features of this particular supply is the “courtesy” outlet on the back. This lets players hook up an AC pedal or another whose current draw is too demanding, via an external mains jack. ToneReport.com 23
