EARTHQUAKER PALISADES The Tube Screamer is an ever-popular choice, even in this golden age of overdrive. For a lot of players the green Screamer is all they will ever need, but for many, it is of limited utility due to its distinctive mid-range hump and the relatively few settings where it actually sounds good. EarthQuaker’s Palisades breathes new life into the venerable old circuit, however, by offering every TS modification ever dreamed up in one pedal, maxing out the potential of this beloved overdrive. With dual rotary switches for Bandwidth and clipping, as well as Buffer and Brightness toggles, two independently footswitchable channels, and a footswitchable boost circuit, the Palisades can cop anything from standard Screamer sounds to burly, metallic distortion sounds and thick fuzz-like tones. The number of possible combinations is 480, to be exact, which should offer even the most insatiable tweaker a lifetime of tonal possibilities. If there can be only one dirt box on your board, you’d be hard pressed to find a more versatile option than the EarthQuaker Devices Palisades.  ToneReport.com 13
