The Mastro Valvola Area Reverb
combines a fully-loaded feature set with
four rich modes. Two of the four modes
are Reverb and Mod, while the others
are Shim[mer] 8th and 8th+5th. The
Pre-Delay knob in the center adjusts
pre-delay in the first two modes, or
shimmer mix in the second two. Other
controls include dampen and a handy
preset switch.

Keeley’s Monterey takes the idea of
a full effect workstation and gives it a
touch of Jimi by adding vibrato, rotary,
fuzz, wah and octave features. A threeway toggle in the center switches
between modulation modes, making
up the left channel. The right channel
is comprised of a delicious fuzz utilizing
two NOS globe-top transistors.

McCaffrey’s Run Rabbit Run distills
everything good about the original UniVibe into a smaller, more manageable
box with a ton more options. Four-stage
phasing, crazy ring-mod tones and a
unique Thump control, coupled with
the foot-controllable Speed knob really
open up the expression capabilities. Two
additional footswitches to toggle speed
settings and modes are available as well.
