STEP 1:
Mount the jacks, switch, and LED in
bezel. Turn the footswitch if you’d
like, in order to place the negative
leg of the LED directly into its
corresponding switch lug.
STEP 2:
Using the lead you saved from Step
4 above, place it between lugs 4 and
9 on the switch. Solder lug 4.

STEP 3:
We will be grounding the whole
shebang here. The most important
thing to remember is that the
electricity only wants one path to
ground (otherwise you get a ground
loop), and the ultimate grounding
point is the sleeve lug of a jack,
because it grounds directly to the
enclosure. I am starting with the
footswitch (lugs 2, 3 and 6), and
wiring that to the DC jack negative
lug (the DC jack has three lugs; two
that look the same, and one different.
The different lug is negative). Then,
I wire the DC jack to the input jack’s
sleeve lug. I wire the circuit board’s
ground wire to this same sleeve lug.
You can wire the output jack’s sleeve
lug to the other sleeve lug as well.
