sounds like it does; rather than overdrive your amp into
creamy breakup, it’s meant to reel in your fire breather
and clean up the signal. With controls for Volume, Bass,
Midrange, and Treble,
the Evolution Underdrive
allows you to sculpt your
new clean(ish) tone in
the process. And with
a perfectly voiced Bass
control, it excels at pulling
back the low frequencies
that can oversaturate a
low-wattage amp while
keeping your tone from
becoming anemic. It can
even work that magic on
a Fuzz Face. Underdriving
might force you to
rethink your gain-staging
techniques, but it’s a very
cool trick.
