SO MUCH RECORD, SO LITTLE TIME
THE MOST EFFICIENT
RECORDS IN HISTORY
WORDS BY S.P. BURKE
S
o much music is
overthought, run
through committee,
rearranged, and remixed
before release. Let’s take a
minute to think about the
artists who knew what they
wanted to do and then
just went ahead and did
it—no fuss, no muss. If you

have enough talent and
focus, you’d be amazed
what you can accomplish
with minimal resources and
time. The albums chosen
here are based on number
of personnel (less people
the better), the time frame
in which it was recorded
(shorter the better), the
resources available, and
(most importantly) how
successful it was afterward.
Here’s to the folks who just
get right to it. If the Beatles
can record its first hit record
in 12 hours, anything’s
possible.
