MIKE ZITO PEACE DRIVE
Mike Zito has been an artist with us for
some time and while he was on tour in
Europe in late 2016, he reached out to
me with an idea for a signature pedal.
Of course I said “let’s do it” and the
concept was born.
Mike wanted a dual pedal with OD and
Boost, which had a very specific tuning
to it that he always searched for. You
see, Mike owns close to 100 overdrive
pedals, some good, some not so good;
the one thing they all seemed to have in
common is that they all did one specific
thing pretty well. The issue is that he

would have to carry several OD pedals
to accomplish what he was looking for.
If you have ever toured internationally
you can only imagine the issues this
creates with travel—you want to travel
as light as possible. With this in mind,
the challenge was on.
We wanted this pedal to be aggressive
but shy at times, loud but very articulate
at lower volumes and of course
extremely dynamic to all the little
nuances in a player’s style; no problem,
right? Onto the breadboard it went,
and we tweaked it and got what we
